Aviation Telephonography training (ICAO)

Aviation English

The International Civil Aviation Organisation has decided that all airline and helicopter pilots who fly internationally and all air traffic controllers who provide services to international flights must have a minimum level of English. These Aviation English language courses are designed to help meet those needs and help students work towards and/or attain level 4, considered the minimum acceptable level (Operational Level)
by ICAO.

Aviation English Coaching

Aviation English Combination includes 20 lessons of General English and 10 or 20 lessons of Aviation English per week. This course is ideal for those wishing to improve their English and Aviation English.
Aviation English classes are small with a maximum of 8 students per class. All course material is provided. There is a lot of focus given to listening and speaking. This course is based on the guidelines given by the ICAO for operational level 4. When booking this course please make sure that you choose between 10 or 20 lessons of Aviation English per week. 20 lessons of General English and 10 or 20 lessons of Aviation English per week.

Aviation English One-to-One

Choose between 10, 20 or 30 lessonsof Aviation English @ 45 minutes per lesson. These courses give the student the chance to work with their private coach intensively. The course content is planned for you and is based on your entrance test results. Your personal coach will decide on the subjects or areas of Aviation Englishyou are to cover. Specific goals will be discussed and developed. This course is ideal for pilots and ATCs alike who want results fast. 10, 20 or 30 lessons @ 45 minutes a lesson, minimum training appointments 90 minutes.

Usual topics covered:

  • Communication in Telephonography and specific aviation functions in plain and simple Aviation English.
  • Extensive practise at distinguishing between similar sounds, sentence stress and accented English.
  • Case studies of aircraft disasters and near disasters.
  • Routine and unusual ATC situations and aircraft emergencies.
  • Aviation speak, acronyms and abbreviations.
